Project YZ125
So as a rider on a budget and wanting a motocross bike to play around on, I decided that the only way to get a bike in my price-range was to buy one blown up. To craigslist I went, and found a 2002 YZ125 near me that had been seized up, and left in the rain a while. The price was right at $220, so I loaded her up and brought it home.
The good: shock, forks, front tire and rim, plastics oddly enough, radiators and most the engine.
The bad: Crank, no rear tire/wheel, odds and ends
The work began! Everything was cleaned and laid out on my bench to dry.

All the paint was stripped off the plastics using acetone, and all the parts for the bike were purchased off eBay.
Rear wheel was purchased off craigslist for $200 as pictured (new tire!)
With everything I had on the bike, it left the engine to be assembled!
A new crank was purchased of eBay for $66, new main bearings were also ordered. The engine's cylinder checked out good, and was able to be assembled. A Wiesco Pro-lite piston topped the top-end. The engine got the top end polished by me, I wont tell exactly what I did to make this thing scream.
I installed the engine, and got to tear around on the bike a while. This bike HAULED! I was a completely different monster then my '02 Cr125 I had owned before. Great low end, fat mid, and arm straightening top. The Pro-lite let this bike really rev up quick. The whole project cost me a few weekends time, and $800 (including the bike's price.) I later sold it for $1100 to fund other interests. The finished product:
